We've had another super busy and exciting week here in Class 2! Let's take a peek at some of the fantastic things we've been up to.
Maths Marvels!
Get your thinking caps on, because this week in Maths we've been diving into the wonderful world of statistics! It might sound like a big word, but it's all about collecting information and showing it in different ways.
We started off by learning how to make tally marks. It's so clever how those little lines can quickly help us count things! We then used our tallying skills to collect data about all sorts of things – favourite colours, types of pets, even how many jumps we could do in a minute!
Once we had our data, we learned how to organise it neatly into tables. It makes it so much easier to see what's what when it's all laid out clearly. But the fun didn't stop there! We then used the information in our tables to create colourful block graphs and engaging pictograms. It's amazing how a picture or a block can tell a whole story about the numbers we collected! Keep an eye out for some of our brilliant graphs and pictograms on display soon!
English Adventures - The Furniture's Feelings!
Our English lessons took a very creative turn this week! We put on our imaginative hats and pretended to be different pieces of classroom furniture. It was a bit like stepping into the pages of the brilliant book, "The Day the Crayons Quit"!
Each of us chose a piece of furniture – maybe a wobbly chair, a dusty bookshelf, or even the whiteboard! Then, we wrote letters to our class, telling them all about why we were feeling a little bit unhappy with the way we've been treated. There were some very funny and some rather heartfelt letters! We learned how to write in a persuasive way and really think about things from a different point of view. We definitely have a much better understanding now of how to look after all the important things in our classroom!
PE with a Difference - Let's Play Cricket!
Our PE lesson this week was a real treat! We were so lucky to head out onto the cricket field! The sun was shining brightly, and it felt fantastic to be out in the fresh air.
We had a fantastic coach who taught us the basics of cricket. We learned how to hold the bat, how to bowl the ball, and even had a go at catching! It was something completely new for many of us, and everyone had a go with a big smile on their face. There were lots of cheers and laughter, and it was brilliant to see everyone trying their best and having so much fun together. Who knows, we might have some future cricket stars in our class!
What a fantastic week it's been! We've learned so much in Maths, been super creative in English, and enjoyed a brilliant new sporting experience. We can't wait to see what exciting things next week will bring!
Have a wonderful weekend!
