The penultimate week to our Spring Term is over and it has been full of wonderful opportunities.

We've covered a fantastic range of topics, and the children have shown real enthusiasm for everything we've been learning.

In our mathematics lessons this week, we've been tackling the world of decimals. The children have been diligently practicing multiplying and dividing decimal numbers by whole integers. It's been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they master these new skills, applying their understanding of place value to accurately solve calculations. We've used a variety of methods, from visual aids to more abstract problem-solving, ensuring everyone has a solid grasp of the concepts.

English has seen us embark on an exciting project: planning and beginning to write non-chronological reports about mythical creatures. The classroom has been buzzing with imaginative ideas, from majestic griffins to elusive yetis! The children have been busy researching the (often fictional!) characteristics, habitats, and interesting features of their chosen creatures, carefully structuring their reports with headings, subheadings, and factual information. We're looking forward to seeing their final pieces take shape next week.

Our Religious Education lesson this week delved into the concept of sacrifice. We explored its meaning in different faiths and then thoughtfully applied this idea to our own lives and beliefs. It was a mature and reflective discussion, with the children offering insightful perspectives and demonstrating empathy for different viewpoints.

Stepping back in time in History, we've been immersed in the fascinating world of ancient Greece. We've learned about the daily lives of the ancient Greeks, from their homes and food to their education and leisure activities. The children were particularly interested in comparing their own routines with those of people living thousands of years ago, leading to some insightful comparisons and discussions about how society has evolved.

Finally, in Science, we've been investigating the fascinating topic of gestation periods in different animals. The children have been busy researching the length of time various creatures spend developing before birth. They then took on the role of data analysts, carefully recording their findings and displaying them in graphs. This practical activity allowed them to identify patterns and draw conclusions about the relationship between animal size and gestation length.

Overall, it's been a truly productive and enjoyable week in Class 4. The children have demonstrated excellent engagement and a real thirst for knowledge across all subjects. We're incredibly proud of their efforts and look forward to another exciting week of learning ahead!
