What a busy and exciting week it's been for class 2. From mastering time to roaring into new topics, and even a peek into their future, they've certainly packed a lot in. Our mathematicians have been absolute stars in maths this week, carrying on with their deep dive into time. They've been busy exploring everything from telling the time on analogue clocks to understanding durations and minutes in an hour. It's fantastic to see their confidence grow as they get to grips with such an important life skill! Can you help your children to be able to read an analogue clock? In English, we kicked off a thrilling new topic all about big cats! The children have been fascinated learning about these magnificent creatures. We've specifically focused on understanding non-chronological reports – how they're structured, why they're useful, and how they present information. To get us started, we've been busy finding out lots of amazing facts about lions. Ask your child to tell you something new they've learned about the king of the jungle! This week was also a significant one for looking ahead, as the children had their special transition day. They thoroughly enjoyed exploring their new classrooms and meeting their new teachers. It's always a lovely opportunity for them to get a feel for what next year will bring and helps ease any worries they might have. To top off a fantastic week, our Year 1 and 2s were treated to a special afternoon watching the Year 5/6 dress rehearsal. They were captivated by the performance, and it was a wonderful chance for them to see what our older pupils are capable of – perhaps inspiring some future actors and actresses in the making! We're so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic the children have been this week across all their learning and activities. They've shown great resilience, curiosity, and adaptability.
