It has been a wonderful week in Class 4 with a great variety of learning enjoyed by all. Preparations for our Harvest Service are well underway as we have practiced our samba with Mr Frame and Ms Parkes.

At the beginning of the week, we completed our end of unit assessment for place value with great success and determination. We also completed a pre-assessment for our unit on addition and subtraction. On Thursday and Friday we all mastered column methods required for these and were able to challenge ourselves with some extension activities.

We demonstrated great creativity in English when we completed our independent writes based on origin stories. Full of adverbial phrases, noun phrases and colons we were able to add great detail to our descriptions of the events that took place.

In PSHE, we did our second lesson on first aid. This involved learning about CPR and the recovery position. In Geography, we enjoyed testing our map skills by completing an orienteering course that involved 10 control points on The Showfield. In Science, we looked at how adaptation takes place through natural selection over many generations. To do this, we read an evolution story named: The Molliebird by Jules Pottle.
