What a beautifully sunny week it has been here in Class 2! The glorious sunshine has brought so much energy to our learning, and the children have packed an incredible amount of activity, laughter, and hard work into the last few days. We started our week on a high note on Monday morning with a fantastic Street Dance workshop. It was wonderful to see the children trying so hard to keep in time with each other, focusing on making sure they were all moving the same way at the same time. This rhythmic focus continued into our Music lessons, where we have been concentrating on mastering the pulse, singing songs, and keeping a steady beat. The children's confidence is soaring, and they are getting much more precise with their timing! Later in the week, excitement reached an all-time high for our annual Sports Day. The children gave it their absolute all during a busy morning of team events, earning as many points as they could in the javelin, long-distance running, shot putt, beanbag throw, and standing long jump. In the afternoon, we were delighted to welcome so many of you to watch the track events. The children ran their hearts out, cheered on beautifully by their families, and it was the perfect lead-in to the wonderful PTA Summer Fayre. Thank you to everyone who joined us in the sunshine to support the school and celebrate our community! Back in the classroom, we have also dipped our toes into some tricky new Maths topics, exploring the language of position and direction. We had a go at moving different shapes and objects, and although it proved a little bit challenging, everyone showed fantastic determination and had a really good go. To top off a brilliant week, Year 1 enjoyed an absolute scorcher of a day for our very last Outdoor Learning session of the school year! The heatwave struck full force, but luckily our two magnificent sycamore trees came to the rescue, providing us with plenty of cool shade and a lovely, refreshing through-breeze. We started our session by gathering together to look back on our incredible year outside, talking about how much the outdoor area has changed through the seasons and how much we have grown too. To celebrate our journey, we broke off into some fantastic summer activities. It has been another busy but fun week in Class 2!
